Frequently asked question about de Online Linguistic Support for Bachelor students at HAS University of Applied Sciences.

Who has access to my language test results?

After you have taken the test, you will receive an email with the results. HAS’s International Office has access to the results. The sole purpose of the language test is to measure language development at the beginning and ending of your period abroad. It is not an entrance exam.

In which language am I to do the assessment if I take classes in two languages?

For example partly in Spanish and partly in English.

That is up to you. Please remember you can only use the free online language course for the language in which you took the test.

I am going to France for English-taught classes. Can I still do a French language course?

No, you can only use the free online language course for the language in which you took the test. If your main language during your study abroad is English, then you'll have to take the English test.

If I go and study in Germany, but the classes are taught in English, can I do both German and English language courses?

You can only be given 1 licence. In this case you will automatically be allocated an English language course if the result of your first language assessment is between CEFR level A1 and B1. If the result of your first language assessment is between B2 and C2 you can also choose for the online German language course.

Before departure

What happens if I have not completed the language test within the set time limit?

If you don't complete the compulsory language test prior to your stay abroad, you won't get Erasmus status (neither with a scholarship nor as a zero grant student). If you don't complete the language test 3 weeks after you return from your period abroad, you will not have met all the requirements, and your Erasmus status will be revoked. You will then have to repay any scholarship amount (70%) previously received.
